Politicians can change the law. God can change the heart!
Praying is: to use our influence, or: to speak with a highly placed
Friend.
If a people receive a government they deserve then let us pray that we,
through grace, we will receive a better government than we deserve.
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord; he directs it like a
watercourse wherever he pleases” Proverbs 21:1 NIV
If people would complain a little less about their politicians, but start
praying for them instead, they would have less reason to complain. (Derek
Prince)
“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and
thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority,
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and
holiness”. Paul in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (New International Version).
Prayer is: Jumping over all the courts of justice (Small claims court,
Family court, criminal court, Court of Appeal, High court, European court
at Strasbourg, International court at The Hague) and land at the supreme
court: you immediately have a personal appeal with the Highest Judge
Himself.
Prayer is not the last carriage on the train but the engine!
Prayer is: moving the greatest power (God’s love) of all time.
Prayer is: Surfing on God’s internet, on his worldwide network of
unending possibilities.
The power of our prayer depends on our understanding to Whom it is we are
speaking.
Prayer is not: Trying to convince God from our perspective on the problem,
but borrowing his glasses for a while to correct our relentless
shortsightedness.
Prayer changes more of us into God.
Prayer is: recognizing that with our most determined efforts, with our
most brilliant ideas and most genial strategies, we can’t add a
millimeter to God’s work without His inspiration.
